FAQs

The What To Dos and What To Brings

What should I wear/bring with me?

Loose fitted clothing, basically, nothing restrictive! Joggers, leggings, shorts, t-shirt, stretchy sweatshirts, in the winter – warm socks, hoodie/jumper for when we cool down.

Feel free to bring your own mat, there are spares that get cleaned after every session, you are welcome to borrow.

I’ve never done yoga, I’m not flexible, can I still join?

Yes!! I was where you are 10 years ago! This is a beginner’s class, there are no inversions (headstands, handstands etc, taught in this class). Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, it is always best to listen to your body and gently come out of a pose if it becomes too much.

How Do I Book?

You can book online via the Book Now button at the top of the homepage. This will open up our Bookwhen page which allows you to choose your session and pay securely via Stripe.

First time visitors to our sessions can follow this link to our Registration Form. This only needs to be completed once, unless your circumstances change.

Sorry, we don’t take walk ins.

How do I pay?

Once you have booked via Bookwhen (link above), you will be directed to pay online via Stripe.

Can I choose when I want to come or do I need to book a block?

No, you don't need to book a block of sessions. Just turn up and give it a go!

I have a medical condition/carrying an injury, can I still join?

With all medical conditions, we advise you seek advice from a GP, feel free to contact me regarding this. Also contact me if you are carrying an injury, you may still do yoga but certain postures can be adapted for you!

I’d like to carry out some home practice, how do I do that?

Speak to me after class and we can go through some postures to focus on specific areas of the body.

Eating and drinking

Preferably, you shouldn’t have a heavy meal 4 hours before yoga and a light meal 2 hours before. If you find you are racing towards the kitchen near to class commencing, may I suggest herbal tea and nuts/dried fruit over a sandwich!

My Inspiration

yoga teachers

The guru on the right in white is BKS Iyengar, a worldwide legend in the yoga world and where Iyengar yoga comes from. I've been studying and practising Iyengar for 10 years. He is known as the 'King of Asanas' ('asana' is Sanskrit for 'poses'), which is one of the eight limbs of yoga.
In orange on the left is Swami Gitananda Guru, from a traditional Rishi-Culture ashram in Pondicherry, India. This is my bucket list 6 month yoga training location and where my teacher training came from. He has influenced so many with his knowledge of Pranayama (another of the eight limbs of yoga). Pranayama is all about energy/breathing. Both have now passed, but their legends live on massively in our yoga world!

Follow the links below to find out more about where my training comes from, and where I trained.
